Schedule An Email Delivery For The Same Time Across Time Zones

You can schedule an email delivery for the same time across time zones using the GeoIP Time Zone metric.

Before you begin

  • Time zone sends should be scheduled 24 hours in advance.
  • If a time zone has passed, relative to the date/time that is scheduled, those contacts will receive the message immediately.
  • If there is no time zone set for a contact, the message will be sent based on the account's time zone setting.

About this task

In the Delivery Scheduling section, you can choose to Send Based on Contact's Time Zone and have the message send at the same time for each contact using the GeoIP Time Zone metric.

The GeoIP Time Zone metric is based on the most frequent, IP address recorded for a contact in the 14 days prior to the most recent open/click activity. This means the IP that is returned is the IP that occurs most in that 14 day period. It does not necessarily indicate the time zone where they reside or the location of the most recent open/click.

To send an email message at the same time in each time zone:

Procedure

  1. In the Time Zone Sending section, select Send Based on Contact's Time Zone.
  2. Click in the Send at this time text box to reveal the pop-up calendar.
  3. Select a specific year, month, and day to send the email message.
  4. Click in the next box and choose a specific time of day to send the email message.
  5. Select AM or PM.
  6. Click Next.

Results

Note: The delivery report will display the Actual Send time of when the first contact's time zone takes effect. This will be displayed based on the account's time zone setting.
