Magento 1 Extension Contact Import

You can map customer information collected on your Magento site to contact fields in Bronto and automatically import the data. In addition to default customer attributes, this can include Reward Points, Store Credit, Customer Group, and even custom customer attributes.

About this task

Important: From June 30, 2020 Adobe will not support Magento 1. The Bronto Magento 1 extension will continue to function, but Oracle NetSuite will discontinue updates and client support from June 30, 2020. You can read more about Adobe's end of support plan for Magento 1 here.
This topic explains how to set up an automatic import of Magento 1 contact data into Bronto. If you want to manually import data:
  1. In Magento, go to Newsletter > Newsletter Subscribers.
  2. Filter the contacts by Subscribed status and click Search.
  3. Click Export.
  4. Import the CSV file into Bronto.

To set up the automatic contact import:

Procedure

  1. Enable the module
    1. Navigate to System > Configuration.
    2. In the left menu, scroll until you see Bronto and click Contact Import.
    3. In the Settings section, these are the recommended settings:
      Enable Module: Yes
      Use Magento Cron Yes
      Frequency: Minute Intervals
      Interval: 15 minutes
      Start Time: 0:0:0
      Limit: 100
      Sync Limit: 1000
  2. In the Customer Attributes section, map the Magento Customer Attributes to Bronto Fields.

    You can create fields on the fly by selecting Create New... and entering the name of the new field in the text box that displays below it. If you do not wish to import an attribute, just leave the drop-down set to -- None Selected --.

  3. In the Address Attributes section, map the Magento Customer Address Attributes to Bronto Fields.

  4. Optional: After you have enabled the modules and clicked Save Config, scroll down and you will have the option to map Magento fields to Bronto.
    Note: Any custom fields you have created in Magento will appear below the Created From field if you are using Magento Open Source or the Reward Points field if you are using Magento Commerce.
  5. Click Save Config.
  6. Sync customers to queue:
    1. Navigate to System > Configuration.
    2. In the left menu, scroll until you see Bronto and click Contact Import.
    3. Click Sync Customers to Queue until you see the message All Customers are synced to the queue.
  7. Check the schedule date and confirm it is today’s date. to verify the Cron is running for Scheduled Import
    Note: The table will remain empty until the cron has completed its first run.
  8. To test: Go to the account signup page and create an account to create a contact.
  9. To test: Import the contact you created into Bronto:
    1. Either wait for the cron to run or Navigate to System > Configuration.
    2. In the left menu, scroll until you see Bronto and click Contact Import.
    3. Click Run Now. 
  10. To test: Verify the contact was imported to Bronto:
    1. Go to Contacts > Search.
    2. Verify that the contact was imported to Bronto.
    3. Click on the email address, then click Fields and verify the field information is correct.
